Guillermo Heredia’s grand slam is not enough to save SSG from defeat. (+Asian League Report)

Guillermo Heredia went yard for the tenth time on the season, a grand slam in the seventh inning of SSG’s 12-9 loss to the LG Twins. The outfielder from Matanzas, Cuba  saw his average fall to .361, which leaves him as the leader in the KBO in that statistical category. Heredia is also fourth in the Korean circuit with 73 RBIs.

In the NPB Ariel Martínez swatted a double in four opportunities, scored a run and also drove in two runs to contribute to a Nippon Ham Fighters 6-2 victory over the Rakuten Eagles at Es Con Field in Hokkaido. The first baseman from Matanzas,Cuba who had not knocked in a run since July 10, maintained his average at .237 and increased his total RBIs to 38.

Coco Montes saw action for the second  time in a minor league game with two hits in as many trips to the plate during Yomiuri’s 4-2 loss to Seibu. The Cuban-American infielder is now hitting .600 after two games in the Nippon League’s minor circuit.
