Yennier Cano notched his fourth save of the year and Cionel Pérez won his second contest of the season after combining to pitch two innings where they gave up a run on three hits to secure the Orioles 8-6 win over the Padres. Pérez a win, a save and seven strikeouts over his last seven outings in relief, while Cano 1.50 ERA over that same span.
Randy Arozarena continues to hit well over the second half of the season and after the All-Star break. In yesterday’s contest the outfielder collected two hits in four trips to the plate and scored a run to do his part in a Mariners win over Chicago. The native of Pinar del Río, Cuba is hitting a robust .375 since his arrival in Seattle and .344 since the midseason classic.
Jorge Soler swatted three hits in five at-bats, drove in a run and scored a run to do his part in San Francisco’s 5-4 win over Colorado. The slugger from Havana is hitting a blazing .329 from the leadoff spot. Soler has obviously found his niche in the Giants order.
