Coco Montes knocks in a run during a Yomiuri win. (+Asian League Report)

Coco swatted a hit in four trips to the and drove in a run to do his part in Yomiuri’s 5-0 shutout of Hiroshima. The Cuban- American infielder is now hitting .286 on the season and his knocked in five runs on the campaign. He also slashes .355/.429/.784 this season.

Although Roenis Elías tossed seven innings of six-hit, three-run ball he still took the loss in SSG’s 3-0 shutout defeat to Kiwoom. The left-hander from Guantánamo, Cuba also fanned eight hitters and watched his ERA descend to 4.44 after his first quality start of the season.

Guillermo Heredia collected two hits in the three at-bats for SSG to up his KBO leading average to .358 on the season. The outfielder is also fourth in the circuit with 141 hits and his been the leader on offense all season for the Landers.
