Odrisamer Despaigne will be returning to a familiar place this winter, the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico. The right-hander saw action last year in the circuit with the Yaquis de Ciudad Obregón, the team he will be returning to for the upcoming season.
Last with the squad the hurler posted a 5-2 record, 2.98 ERA and struck out 68 in 87 ⅔ innings pitched during the regular facet of the LAMP’s tournament. Despaigne also pitched for México last season in the Serie del Caribe, which was held in Miami.
The ex-big leaguer has also seen action in Asia (KBO) and the Mexican Summer League (LMB). Despaigne is characterized as a hard-throwing workhorse who will eat up innings for a team and could be the ace when his pitches are sharp. Expect the righty to be the team’s Opening Day starter for the upcoming Liga ARCO season.
