Aroldis Chapman tossed a scoreless inning to notch his 22nd hold of the season during Pittsburgh’s 5-3 win over Chicago. The left-hander has a 2.40 ERA over his last 15 games and has now fanned 84 batters in 52⅔ on the campaign. Chapman who has been a very versatile reliever for the Pirates has also saved five games on the season.

Yuli Gurriel made his second start of the season with the Royals, this time at first base with the Missourian squad. Gurriel collected a hit in two trips to the plate and scored a run on the evening, but his best efforts couldn’t prevent a Kansas City 4-2 loss to Cleveland. The infielder now hits .400 in his short time with the team. Gurriel left let in the game after experiencing hamstring tightness.

José Iglesias swatted a double in four at-bats and also scored on an occasion to also do his part in New York’s 4-1 victory over the Red Sox. The infielder who has been a key piece to the Mets’ playoff push now hits a solid .315 on the season and played various positions on the diamond for the team from Gotham.
