Néstor Cortés Jr notched his ninth win of the season after 4⅓ innings in relief of no-hit ball in which he struck out three and walked one to preserve the Yankees’ 2-0 blanking of the Cubs. The left-hander saw his ERA descend to 3.97 on the campaign.

Yandy Díaz collected three hits, one of them being his 14th longball of the season to do his part in Tampa’s 7-1 thrashing of the Orioles. In total the first baseman drove in two runs and also scored twice on the evening. The native of Villa Clara, Cuba is now hitting a robust .400 in his last seven games.

Andy Pagés went yard for the tenth time on the season, a two-run first inning shot during the Dodgers’ 7-2 win over Cleveland. The rookie outfielder watched his average rise to .246 and has also driven in 39 runs on the season. The slugger broke a slump that has seen him hitting .158 over the last seven games.
