Adrián Del Castillo swatted two hits in three trips to the plate, including a fifth inning three-run blast to lead Arizona’s 14-4 thrashing of the Texas Rangers. For the Cuban-American catcher it was his fourth longball of the season to go along with his 17 runs batted in.
For the Rangers Adolis García drove in a run via a fifth inning double, his 25th on the season to account for one of his team’s four runs on the day. The power-hitting outfielder now has 74 RBIs on the season. He is also hitting a miniscule .160 over his last seven games.
Nick Castellanos swatted his 20th homerun on the season to do his part in Philadelphia’s 3-2 victory over the Rays. The native of Miami has now knocked in 80 runs on the season. The outfielder has been a key run producer for the team for the Phillies the last three seasons.
