Andy Pagés drive in three runs via two hits in five at-bats to do his part in a Dodgers’ 20-4 thrashing of the Marlins. The outfielder also scored three times to help pace the team from tinsel town, but his performance was upstaged by Shohei Ohtani’s 6-6, 3-homer and 10 RBI game. Pagés is hitting .375 over his last seven games.

In a loss Nick Fortes swatted his fourth longball of the season in four trips to the plate for the Marlins. The Cuban-American backstop has been excellent post All-Star break hitting a solid .314 and has taken sole possession of the catching position for the fish.

Yennier Cano and Cionel Pérez each notched a hold after tossing two innings combined in which they fanned four of the eight batters they faced on the evening. For Cano it was his 33rd hold of the season, while Pérez upped his total to 21. Cano saw his ERA fall to 2.73 and Pérez’s earned run average descended to 3.75 on the campaign. Baltimore downed San Francisco 5-3.

Jorge Soler went yard for the 20th time on the season, the fourth time he has reached the feat in his career. The Braves pounded the Reds 15-3 to keep pace with the Mets in their battle for the last wildcard spot, while Soler knocked in three runs to up his total 61 on the season. The Cuban Giant is 10 longballs from 200 in his career.
