José Iglesias knocked in two runs via a seventh inning single to do his part in the Mets’ 7-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies to put the team from Gotham a game away from advancing to the next round. The infielder who has been a key player for New York late in this season has now driven in three runs on the postseason.
Nick Castellanos also drove in a run in four trips to the plate for the losing team from the city of brotherly love. The Cuban- American outfielder is now hitting a robust .385 in the playoffs and looks to aid his team force a decisive fifth game with a victory tomorrow.
The two squads will face-off in Citi-Field tomorrow at 5:08 PM with left-handers José Quintana (Mets) and Ranger Suárez (Phillies) taking the hill. With a New York win the Mets will punch their ticket to the NLCS commencing Sunday. Look for both teams to pull out all the stops in a pivotal Game 4 of the series.
