José Abreu went yard once again and knocked in two runs to lead San Juan to a 9-3 win over the Gigantes de Carolina. The Cuban slugger saw his average rise to .269 on the season and now leads the LBPRC with four longballs.
In the LVBP Richard Guasch notched his third save of the season after tossing a scoreless ninth inning to preserve Anzoátegui’s 3-2 victory during the second game of a twin billing between the clubs. The Washington prospect now sports a solid 3.00 earned run average on the season.
Ronald Bolaños pitched six solid innings in which he gave up only three hits, while also striking out five to post a quality start and win his second game of the campaign. The hard-throwing righty also saw his ERA fall to 4.80 in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico.
