Yadiel Hernández swatted his second homerun of the season, a two-run shot amongst his three hits on the evening to lead Mexicali in their 8-3 win over Navojoa. The Cuban outfielder also scored twice and is now hitting .250 on the season.
Although the Águilas Cibaeñas fell to the Toros del Este 6-2 in the LIDOM, César Prieto knocked in a run via a fifth inning single to aid the cause. The Cuban infielder watched his average rise to .265 and has now driven in five runs on the campaign.
In the LVBP Richard Guasch notched his fourth save of the season after tossing a scoreless inning in which he fanned two of the three batters he faced to secure Anzoátegui’s 9-7 win over Aragua. The right-hander now sports an ERA of 3.60 and has now struck out 23 batters in 20 innings pitched.
