Yoel Yanqui went yard for the first time on the season and knocked in two runs in Bóer to 14-7 loss to the Tigres de Chinandega. The slugger from Santiago de Cuba is now hitting a solid .294 on the postseason with the Indios. Luis Medina also did his part for the Indios by swatting three hits and driving in three runs via his own longball for the Nicaraguan squad.
Also in the LBPN Maikel Serrano collected two hits in five at-bats, drove in a run and also scored on an occasion, but El Tren del Norte fell to León 3-2. The Cuban slugger, who was an All-Star during the 2024 season is hitting a robust .382 during the Round Robin.
Although he did not factor in the decision Carlos Espinosa had an impeccable outing during Mayagüez’s 2-0 blanking of the Gigantes de Carolina in the LBPRC. The Cuban right-hander tossed of two-hit, no-run ball to see his ERA descend to 2.56 on the season. The hurler also fanned eight hitters on the evening.
