With his single in the fourth inning of the game last night with the Algodoneros de Guasave, Antillean slugger Yadir Drake eclipsed 400 hits for his career in the Liga Arco Mexicana del Pacífico. Guasave downed Navojoa and Drake became the first Cuban to reach that feat in the Mexican winter circuit.
Also in the Liga ARCO Yasmany Tomás swatted a run-scoring fifth inning single amongst his two hits on the evening to help secure Los Mochis’ 5-1 victory over Culiacán. The power-hitting Cuban has now driven in 41 runs on the season for the Cañeros.
In the LBPRC Orlando Martínez collected a hit in three trips to the plate, while also driving in a run on an occasion to do his part during Caguas’ 5-3 win over the Cangrejeros de Santurce. The outfielder is starting to find his way with the bat and is now hitting .260 on the campaign.
