Two more Cubans signed deals with teams in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol with training camp looming. Right-hander Josimar Cousin(León) and slugger Rangel Ravelo (Dos Laredos) will be joining Mexican League teams.
Ravelo played this winter in the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional with the Cardenales de Lara. During the campaign Ravelo played in 39 games, where he smacked 35 hits (four doubles and five home runs), drove in 31 runs and scored another 23. He also drew 25 walks and only struck out 18 times, also hitting .282 and posting an OBP of .422.
In 2024 with the Tecos, Ravelo only participated in 21 games, where he had 92 trips to the plate and connecting with 19 hits in 74 official at-bats posting average of .257. He also walked 11 times and struck out in 13 trips to the plate, Ravelo swatted three homeruns and had an OBP .380.
Cousin pitched this winter in the Liga Profesional de Béisbol Roberto Clemente with the Indios de Mayagüez striking out 16 in 16⅔ with 2.70 earned run average. The righty also had a decent 1.38 WHIP. In 2024 in the White Sox farm system he saw action in 20 games and had a decent 3.86 ERA. The hurler was a minor league free agent this season.
