The Spring Breakout will be back next week and will take place from March 13th to the 16th . The top prospects from the 30 Major League Baseball organizations will compete for four days in games that will take place in stadiums in Florida and Arizona. Several Cuban players are on the rosters of their respective teams,
Lázaro Montes will lead the plethora of talented Cubans in these games. The power-hitting outfielder and # 2 prospect in the Mariners farm system is hitting .417 with two homeruns and six runs batted in over 12 at-bats during the spring. Montes could make his debut this year depending on how he does in the minors this campaign.
Cuban-American Yohandy Morales will get the chance to showcase his talents over these games. The sun of ex-Cuban League star Andy Morales is hitting .238 on the spring and is looking to build on a season in which he slashed .283/.368/.416/.784 with seven longballs and 41 RBI over 75 games in the minors.
Victor Mesa JR is looking to see his first action of the spring after dealing with an injury. The talented outfielder would have made his debut in the majors last season if not for a season ending injury in 2024. Mesa hit 13 homeruns and drove in 51 runs in 80 games last season at Jacksonville (AAA).
