Miguel Romero will play with the Delfines de La Guaira this summer after pitching this winter in the same city with the Tiburones of the LVBP. The right-hander was released by the Venezuelan squad after posting a 8.58 ERA during his time in the circuit.
Romero then made three starts with the Gigantes de Rivas in the Liga Nicaragüense del Béisbol Profesional notching a win over that span. In 14 innings pitched in the LBPN the hurler had a 1-1 record, 3.86 earned run average and fanned nine batters. After struggling in the LVBP found his niche in the Nicaraguan Winter League.
The Cuban finished the winter with Mayagüez of the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente, but did not accompany the team to the Serie del Caribe in Mexicali. Romero has been trained hard this offseason in Puerto Rico and has looked good on the mound tossing a fastball that has topped out at 95 mph, expect Romero to set the top end of the Delfines’ rotation this season.
