Raidel Martínez notches his first save in a Yomiuri win. (+Asian League Report)

Raidel Martínez earned his first save of the season pitching a scoreless frame in an inning of relief during the Yomiuri’s 3-0 shutout win over the Yakult Swallows in the NPB. The Cuban right-hander struck out one and walked one in the game, his ERA remained at 0.00.

In the minors with Chunichi Carlos Moiner swatted a three-run second inning homerun in the Dragons 13-0 thrashing of  the Hiroshima Carp. The slugger from the Santiago de Cuba has now driven in four runs and hits .235 on the campaign.

In the the KBO Guillermo Heredia collected two hits in four trips to the plate and also knocked in a run to do his part in SSG’s 8-2 win over Kiwoom. The outfielder who is coming off back to back outstanding seasons at the plate is now hitting a solid .300.
