Liván Moinelo had a quality outing in his 2025 season debut with the Softbank Hawks. His opponents were the Nippon-ham Fighters at the PayPay Dome in Fukuoka. He started as he finished in 2024, dominating his opponents. Moinelo allowed came in the opening inning when Yuki Nomura hit a solo home run. He then retired the next three batters, including the first of three strikeouts.
He fanned fellow countryman Ariel Martínez three times on the day. Moinelo opened the third inning with a walk to Mannami but finished the inning without complications, dominating the three batters that followed, and for the second time, retiring Kiyomiya on strikes.
The only other hit came in the sixth inning, right via Kiyomiya . The seventh inning was his final inning of work, as he again retired two hitters via the strikeout, including the third to Ariel Martínez. The Hawks eventually defeated the Nippon Ham 5-1.
