Yandy Díaz went yard for the second day in a row and drove in two to do his part in Tampa’s 16-1 thrashing of the Red Sox. The Cuban infielder is now hitting a blazing .321 of his last seven games after a slow start to the season.
Nick Castellanos went yard for the third time on the season, a fifth inning solo-shot and also knocked in a run via a first inning single, but the Phillies still fell 10-4 to the Giants. The outfielder is hitting .311 and has now driven in 11 runs on the campaign.
Yariel Rodríguez tossed two scoreless innings in relief during which he fanned a batter and did not allow a hit. The Bluejays fell to the Braves 8-4 and the right-hander’s ERA fell to 6.23 on the season. After a slow start Rodríguez has not allowed a run in his last two outings.
Andy Ibáñez collected two hits in five trips to the plate and drove in two runs, while also scoring a run during Detroit’s 9-1 win over the Brewers. The infielder from the Isle of Youth reappeared with a bang after missing a few games and watched his average rise to .185 on the season.
