José Barrero collected two hits in four trips to the plate and knocked in three runs via a ground-rule double and a homerun, while also scoring twice to lead St. Louis to a 6-3 win over the Pirates. The power-hitting infielder is now hitting .231 on the campaign.

Although he did not receive the decision Carlos Rodón was immaculate on the mound in a Yankees 4-3 loss to the Padres. The Cuban-American righty tossed 6⅔ innings of three-hit, no-run ball in which he fanned five and walked one to watch his ERA descend to 2.96 on the season.

Andy Pagés swatted two hits in four at-bats, including a triple and scored a run to do his part in a Dodgers 7-4 win over the Marlins. The hot-hitting Cuban is now batting .323 over his last seven games after a slow start to the season with the lumber.
