Liván Moinelo earned his third win of the season on Tuesday, allowing just one single over seven scoreless innings in the SoftBank Hawks’ 10-0 shutout victory over the Seibu Lions at the Belluna Dome in Tokorozawa.
The left-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba struck out six and didn’t issue any walks in the game. Moinelo improved his record to 3-0 and lowered his ERA to 1.60, a figure that leaves him sixth-best in that category in the Pacific League.
Rubén Cárdenas collected a hit in four trips to the plate and knocked in a run, but Kiwoom’s 5-3 loss to Kia. The Cuban-American outfielder saw his average fall to .276 and has now driven in 23 runs on the season.
