Liván Moinelo earned his fourth win of the season after allowing just one run and six hits in seven solid innings of work during the SoftBank Hawks’ 6-1 victory over the Seibu Lions at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka.
The left-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba struck out five batters and walked two in the game. Moinelo improved his record to 4-0 and his ERA fell to 1.55 on the season, leaving him third in that category in the Pacific League.
In the KBO Yasiel Puig collected a hit in five trips to the plate and knocked in a run during Kiwoom’s 9-6 loss to LG. The Cuban slugger is hitting a lowly .215 and has now driven in 19 runs on the campaign for the Heroes.
