Aledmys Díaz knocked in three runs via a single and a hit by a pitch during the Leones de Yucatán’s 10-6 loss to the Diablos Rojos de México City. The infielder from Villa Clara, Cuba also scored a run on the evening and saw his average rise to .254 on the season.
Although he didn’t factor in the decision Yoennis Yera only gave up four hits over 5⅓ innings of work. The only run he allowed by the Cuban lefty came on a solo home run by Francisco Peña in the top of the second inning.
Yera struck out only one batter and issued three walks. Tabasco downed Campeche 4-3 and sports a 2.43 ERA leaving him fourth-best in the Mexican summer circuit in that category this season. The southpaw has been very effective but has not received much offensive support from Tabasco this campaign.
