Jorge Soler moves closer to history in an Angels’ victory.  (+Cuban MLB Report)

Jorge Soler went yard for the seventh time on the season in the eighth inning, the 198th longball of his career that helped secure an Angels 7-4 win over the Marlins. The outfielder has now driven in 20 runs on the campaign. With two more homeruns he could become the 7th Cuban born player to reach the 200 homer plateau in MLB history.

Nolan Arenado laced a run-scoring sixth inning three-run triple to pace a Cardinals’ 4-3 victory over the the Diamondbacks. The Cuban-American third baseman saw his average rise to .243 on the season and broke a 5-for-26 slump over his last seven games.

Daysbel Hernández continues to toss impeccable relief. In yesterday’s 2-1 loss by the Braves at the hands of the Padres. The right-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba also fanned a batter and watched his ERA descend to 1.64 on the year.
