Yadiel Hernández knocked in five runs via three doubles in the first, fifth and seventh innings to lead the Tecolotes de Dos Laredos to a 19-16 win over the Dorados de Chihuahua. The slugging outfielder saw his average rise to .377 and now leads the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol with 60 RBIs.
Although he left without a decision Vladimir Gutierrez tossed six innings of six-hit, three-run ball during Puebla’s 6-4 loss to the Diablos Rojos de México City. The right-hander from Pinar del Río, Cuba also fanned seven and saw his ERA fall to 3.65 on the campaign.
Diosbel Arias went yard for the seventh time on the season, a sixth inning solo-shot to pace the Leones de Yucatán’s 8-4 win over the Guerreros de Oaxaca. Yadir Drake also got in on the with a perfect 4-for-4 night and two runs batted in, Drake and Arias hit .352 and .252 respectively on the season.
Albert Lara swatted his fourth homerun of the season, a two-run bomb in the third inning during Unión Laguna’s 8-1 triumph over the Sultanes de Monterrey. The Cuban infielder has been a key bat for the Algodoneros hitting a robust .351 on the season.
