Liván Moinelo earned his seventh win of the season on Friday after allowing just one run and six hits in seven solid innings in the SoftBank Hawks’ 6-3 victory over the Lotte Mariners at ZOZO Marine Stadium in Chiba. The Pinar del Río native, who struck out five batters and walked three in the game, lowered his ERA to 1.28, moving up to second place in that category in the Pacific League.
Raidel Martínez tossed a scoreless ⅔ of an inning in which he fanned both of the batters he faced to notch his 25th save of the season during Yomiuri 4-0 win over the DeNa BayStars. The right-hander has now started the season with 30 consecutive scoreless innings leaving him nine short of the Nippon League’s all time record.
In the KBO Guillermo Heredia collected two hits in five trips to the plate including an RBI and a run scored during SSG’s 8-6 win over Hanwha. The outfielder saw his average jump to .286 on the campaign. Heredia has also driven in 13 runs on the year.
