Randy Arozarena launched a sixth inning homerun to account for the only run on the day in Seattle’s 1-0 blanking of the Pirates. For the Cuban slugger it was his 14th longball on the season. Arozarena has stolen 15 bases on the season and is in route to his fifth straight 20-20 season.
Yanquiel Fernández swatted a hit in three at-bats including a second inning force out to drive in the first run of his career in second inning of the Rockies’ 6-4 victory over the White Sox. The outfielder from Havana also scored a run on the evening and hits .308 on the campaign.
Yennier Cano notched his 11th hold of the season after tossing a scoreless inning in which he allowed a hit and fanned a batter during Baltimore’s 2-1 win over Atlanta. The right-hander has accumulated 77 holds over the last three seasons.
Yandy Díaz laced two hits in five trips to the plate including a tenth inning run-scoring double to do his part in Tampa’s 7-5 extra-inning win over Minnesota. The infielder is hitting .378 over the last month and has now driven in 52 runs on the campaign.
