Félix Pérez’s homer keys a Campeche win. (Mexican League Report)

Félix Pérez homered inthe eighth inning of the Piratas de Campeche’s 7-0 blanking of the Pericos de Puebla. The Cuban slugger knocked two runs in three trips to the plate on the evening and the green birds now lead the series 1-0.

Aledmys Díaz drove in two of the Tecos de los Dos Laredos’ three runs in their 20-3 loss to Monclova in the LMB postseason opener. Díaz went 2-for-3 with a home run, a second base hit, and a run scored in his postseason debut in Mexico.

Darién Núñez closed out Unión Laguna’s Game 1 loss to Tijuana by the count of 7-2 by striking out three of the five batters he faced. The left-hander from Las Tunas, Cuba looked impressive with his 96 Mph fastball and looks to be a key acquisition by a winter league ballclub.
