Raisel Iglesias notched his 20th save of the season after throwing a scoreless ninth inning to secure Atlanta’s 11-10 win over the White Sox. The right-hander from the Isle of Youth has a 3.93 ERA on the campaign and has not allowed a run in his last 12 innings pitched.
For the White Sox but in a losing cause Luis Robert and Miguel Vargas combined for three runs batted in and three runs scored to the their part for the team’s offense. The outfielder and the infielder hit .219 and .233 respectively on the campaign.
Randy Arozarena laced a run-scoring double in four trips to the plate and also scored, but the Phillies downed the Seattle 6-4. The outfielder now hits .243, has now driven in 59 runs and sports a .791 OPS on the campaign. Arozarena now with his 23 homeruns and 24 stolen bases is having the most dynamic season of an Cuban in MLB this season.
Although he did not factor in the decision Aroldis Chapman tossed a scoreless inning in which he fanned three of the four batters he faced during the Red Sox’s 4-3 loss to the Orioles. The left-hander saw his ERA descend to 1.13 on season and has now struck out 1,315 on his career leaving him third on the All-time list for relievers behind Hoyt Wilhelm and Rich Gossage.
