Cuban-American hurler Carlos Rodón notched his 15th win of the season after tossing six innings of seven-hit, one-run ball in the Yankees 10-2 thrashing of the White Sox. The left-hander also fanned five and saw his ERA fall to 3.18 on the season.
César Prieto made his Major League debut last night with the St. Louis Cardinals in their 7-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds. The infielder struck out in his only trip to the plate. Prieto becomes the 33rd Cuban to see action on the season tying the record set in 2022 and 2024.
José Iglesias collected two hits in four trips to the plate, drove in a run and scored a run during San Diego’s 7-4 loss to the Twins. The infielder is now hitting .233 and has knocked in 30 runs on the campaign for the Padres.
Yanquiel Fernández homered for the second consecutive day and for the third time on the season, a two-run fourth inning shot, Colorado still fell to the Cubs 11-7. The slugger also scored twice and his hitting .368 over his last seven games.
