Yennier Cano tossed a scoreless inning in which he fanned two of the three batters he faced to help secure an Orioles 7-5 win over the Padres. For the right-hander it was a second save od the season and his earned run average also descended to 5.07 on the year.
Edgar Quero swatted his fifth longball of the season, a solo-shot in second inning and also scored a run during Chicago’s 4-3 triumph over the Twins. The young catcher is now hitting .284 and has driven in 36 runs in his rookie season in the major leagues.
Yordan Álvarez had four hits in five at-bats including a run-scoring in the seventh during Houston’s 8-7 win over the Yankees. Since returning from injury the slugger is hitting a robust .435 and has now driven in 23 runs on the campaign.
