Yordan Álvarez swats four hits, but Houston falls to the Yankees. (+Cuban MLB Report)

Yordan Álvarez swatted four hits for he second straight day in five trips to the plate including a solo-homerun off Carlos Rodón in the fifth inning. In spite of Álvarez’s splendid evening the Astros still fell 8-4 to the Yankees. In total the slugger knocked in two runs and now hits an astronomical .500 since his return from a hand injury.

In this case of Rodón he notched his American League leading 16th victory after tossing six innings of three-hit, two-run to secure the Bronx Bombers win. The Cuban-American lefty saw his ERA descend to 3.12 on the season. Rodón now has 180 strikeouts in a 170.1 innings pitched.

Edgar Quero collected three hits in five trips to the plate and also scored twice to do his part in the Chicago White Sox’s 11-8 victory over the Minnesota Twins. The rookie catcher is now hitting .327 over the last month.
