Aroldis Chapman tossed a scoreless ninth inning to secure his 30th save of the season in the Red Sox’s 6-4 win over the Yankees. The flamethrowing left-hander saw his ERA fall to 1.26 on the season and now has nine 30 save seasons in his career.
Luis Danys Morales tossed five innings of four-hit, three-run ball to secure his fourth win of the season during the Athletics’ 7-4 win over the Cincinnati Reds. The right-hander also fanned two and saw his ERA descend to 3.08 on the year.
In a losing cause for the Reds,Sal Stewart Jr swatted the third homerun of his career, a solid in the eighth inning. The Cuban-American infielder has also now knocked in four runs on the season for Cincinnati.
Yandy Díaz went yard for the 24th time on the season, drove in a run and scored a run, but the Rays fell to the Cubs 4-3. The Cuban slugger now hits .291 and set his career high with 79 runs batted in on the campaign.
