Adrián Morejón tossed 2⅓ innings of scoreless relief in which he fanned a batter to help secure San Diego’s 3-0 blanking of the Cubs to even their playoff series at one. The Cuban left-hander has yet to allow a run in the playoffs and also notched his first win during the postseason.
Although he did not factor in the decision Carlos Rodón tossed six innings of four-hit, three-run ball during the Yankees’ 4-3 victory over the arch rival Boston Red Sox to even their playoff series at one. The Cuban-American lefty also fanned six and sports a decent 4.50 earned run average in these playoffs.
Sal Stewart Jr collected two hits in four trips to the plate, while also driving in three runs via first and eighth inning singles during Cincinnati’s 8-4 loss to the Dodgers. Though the Reds were eliminated yesterday the young slugger closes his postseason participation this season with a .500 batting average and 3 RBIs.
