Yadir Drake swatted his first homerun of the season, a two-run fourth inning shot to lead the Águilas de Mexicali to a 6-3 win over the Tomateros de Culiacán. The infielder saw his average rise to .333 on the season.
Yadiel Hernández also got in on the act by collecting two hits in three trips to the plate and knocked in a run via a first inning single, while also scoring two runs for Mexicali. The slugger now hits .214 on the young campaign.
In the LVBP Julio Rodríguez had another scoreless outing in which he allowed a hit and struck out a batter during Magallanes’ 7-6 extra-inning loss to Zulia. After he second appearance the right-hander sports a sterling 0.00 earned run average.
