Two Cuban pitchers ink minor league deals.

Richard Guasch (27) signed a minor league deal with the Baltimore Orioles that includes an invitation to Spring Training, while Sandy Gastón (23) re-signed with the Los Angeles Angels after spending the season at between Tri-City (A+) and Salt Lake (AAA).

Guasch spent 2025 with the Tigers minor league affiliate at Erie   (AA), posting a3-4 record, a 2.74 ERA and fanning 57 batters in 46 innings. The right-hander from Santiago de Cuba also saw action in the Liga Mexicana de Béisbol with the Rieleros de Aguascalientes having a 2-0 mark, 1.98 earned run average and two saves in 13 games. Guasch recently reported to the Estrellas Orientales of the LIDOM.

Gastón sported a 5-2 record, 4.84 earned run average and 89 strikeouts in 70⅔ innings of work on the farm with the team from tinsel town. The once prized prospect of the Tampa Bay Rays signed with the floridian squad for a 2.6 million dollar bonus in 2018. The flamethrowing righty will be playing this winter with the Gigantes de Carolina of the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente.

Gastón trains in the offseason with the heralded pitching coach Héctor Berrios. The experienced Puerto Rican trainer is one of the best in the business and is responsible for saving plenty of careers due to his expertise in mechanics. Expect the hurler to be given a good look this spring for a bullpen spot.
