In the LIDOM Andrew Pérez tossed a scoreless ⅔ of an inning during Tigres del Licey’s 4-2 loss to their arch rival Aguilas Cibaeñas. The left-hander fanned both of the batters he faced on the evening and saw his ERA descend to 5.40 on the season.
Geisel Cepeda debuted in the APBN with two hits in four trips to the plate, including a run-scoring double in the first inning during the Tigres de Chinandega’s 8-5 loss to Gigantes de Rivas. The Cuban outfielder leaves a .500 average after his first game with the Nicaraguan club.
Henry Urrutia got into the act for the victorious Gigantes with an RBI double of his own in the bottom of the inning. The Cuban slugger now hits a a solid .313 on the campaign. Urrutia has been a key component to the team’s lineup since his addition to the ballclub.
