Odrisamer Despaigne is named Pitcher of the Week in the Liga ARCO.

This Monday which was a rest day in the 2025-2026 season of the Mexican Pacific League (Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico), and the weekly awards are being announced. Havana native Odrisamer Despaigne was chosen as Pitcher of the Week in the Mexican circuit.

The hurler had an excellent week with the Yaquis de Ciudad Obregón becoming the first Cuban pitcher to receive the award this season. Cuban utfielder Leonys Martín has won the award twice this year. Despaigne pitched in two games over the past seven days, one against the Cañeros de Los Mochis and the other against the Tomateros de Culiacán, excelling in both matchups.

He earned the win against both the Cañeros and the Tomateros. Against the Cañeros, he pitched six innings, allowing only three hits and no runs, while striking out four batters and recording a quality start, his fourth in the last 10 games. Against the Tomateros this past Sunday, he pitched 5.2 innings, giving up four hits and just two earned runs; he also struck out four batters and walked three.

On the season the right-hander sports a 5-2 record, 3.18 earned run average and has struck out 32 batters in 52⅓ innings pitched. In nine starts Despaigne also has 1.30 WHIP and batters hit .242 against him on the campaign, while opponents also hit a paltry .175 against the pitcher with runners in scoring position.
