Yasiel Puig swatted two homeruns, a fourth inning solo-shot and a sixth inning two-run homer in his four trips to the plate to do his part in Magallanes’ 4-1 victory over the Caribes de Anzoátegui during the LVBP Round Robin. The Cuban slugger has now homered three times and knocked in three runs during the Venezuelan playoffs.
In the LIDOM Jimmy Yacabonis tossed a scoreless inning in which only allowed a hit to second the Toros del Este 3-0 win over the Águilas Cibaeñas in the Dominican Round Robin. The Cuban-American righty now sports a 1.23 earned run average in 7⅓ innings pitched during the postseason.
In the Liga ARCO Orlando Martínez drove in a run via a fourth inning single during Culiacán’s 3-0 blanking of Guasave. The Tomateros now lead the series 3-0 and Martínez now hits .265 in the Mexican playoffs and his squad in one game from sweeping the Algodoneros.
Also in México Yadir Drake went yard and drove in three runs ,scored on an occasion and won the game for Mexicali with a sacrifice fly during their 6-5 triumph over the Charros de Jalisco. The outfielder from Matanzas, Cuba. .296 in the playoffs and the Águilas are now down 2-1 in their postseason series.
