Today all players report to MLB camps and there are plenty of Cubans there. Players on the 40-man roster and non-roster invitees officially begin Spring Training 2026. The expectations are high for the players from the largest of Antilles, especially after a record number played in the majors last season.
Yandy Díaz, Aroldis Chapman, Yordan Álvarez, Andy Pagés, Raisel Iglesias, Adrián Morejón, Zach Neto, Carlos Rodón and Randy Arozarena reported to camp and are expected to be catalyst for their teams once again. While Johan Oviedo, Luis Robert, Nolan Arenado and Adolis García have new homes and the expectations are high for each of these players.
Young players such as Luis Danys Morales, Sal Stewart Jr, Daysbel Hernandez and Miguel Vargas are looking to build on last season and establish themselves with their ballclubs, while non-roster invitees such as Yunior Tur, Ernesto Martínez, George Lombard Jr, Cionel Pérez and Raynel Delgado are looking to impress their teams and make the roster out of camp.
Coveted prospects such as Kendrys Rojas, Lázaro Montes and Yohandy Morales are looking to showcase their talents to teams and either make the team out of camp or earn an early season call-up. Of the Cuban presence at spring training from day 1, who will make the Opening Day roster?
