Miguel Vargas arguably had the best night of his career yesterday against the Miami Marlins in a White Sox 9-4 triumph. The Cuban third baseman drove in six runs via a third inning single, afourth inning grand slam and a sixth inning sacrifice fly. Vargas now hits a solid .306 on the season.
Yoán Moncada went yard for the first time on the season, a seventh inning shot during the Angels 7-2 loss to the Chicago Cubs. The native of Cienfuegos, Cuba broke an early season slump the saw him off to a 2-for-17 start. The infielder now hits a paltry .118 on the campaign.
Yandy Díaz led off the game by swatting his first longball of the season against Kyle Harrison to do his part in Tampa Bay’s 3-2 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. The Rays designated hitter in now hitting a robust .550 and has driven in six runs in the early season.
Yordan Álvarez launched his second homerun of the season during the second inning of the Houston Astros’ 8-1 victory over the Boston Red Sox. “Air Yordan” as he is known by the Cuban faithful is hitting .333 and has returned to form this season after an injury plagued 2025.
