Yandy Díaz reaches 1,000 hits in MLB. (+Cuban MLB Report)

Yandy Díaz swatted two hits in four at-bats including a double in the ninth inning of the Tampa Bay ‘s 8-4 win over the lowly Boston Red Sox. The slugger from Villa Clara now has 1000 hits in his distinguished MLB career with the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Indians.

Yennier Cano tossed to scoreless innings in relief during the Baltimore Orioles’ 4-3 loss to the Miami Marlins. The flamethrowing right-hander saw his ERA descend to 1.29 and has now only allowed two earned runs in 18 outings on the campaign.

JC Escarra collected one hit in three trips to the plate, a run-scoring single and scored a run during the sixth inning to do his part in the New York Yankees’ 9-2 win over the Texas Rangers. The Cuban-American catcher saw his average rise to .211 on the season.

Sal Stewart launched his 10th homerun on the season in four trips to the plate, a sixth inning solo-shot during the Cincinnati Reds’ 8-3 loss to the Chicago Cubs. The native of Miami also scored twice, while also leading all rookies in longballs and in runs batted in with 30 on the year.
