Although he did not factor in the decision, Carlos Rodón was stellar on the mound during the Yankees’ 2-1 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. The Cuban-American lefty tossed six innings in which he gave up two hits, an earned run and fanned seven batters. Rodón saw his earned run average descend to 2.88 on the year.
Yennier Cano tossed ⅓ of a scoreless inning during the Baltimore Orioles 8-2 thrashing of the Boston Red Sox. The flamethrowing right-hander saw his ERA fall to 2.70 and has struck out 16 batters on the season in 20 innings pitched.
