Randy Arozarena drove in a run via a sixth inning single in five at-bats to do his part during the Seattle Mariners 8-3 victory over the Boston Red Sox. The native of Pinar del Río, Cuba hits .272 on the season and has driven in eight runs over his last seven games.
Víctor Mederos tossed a scoreless inning in which he fanned a batter to help secure the Atlanta Braves’ 9-0 blanking of the Washington Nationals. The right-hander has struck out 28 batters this in 28⅓ innings pitched and has also not allowed a run in his last seven games.
