In 6⅓ postseason innings the Cuban hurler has fanned eight hitters and sports a 5.68 earned run average. The native of the Isle of Youth led the Braves in saves this season and was selected to his first All-Star Game.
George Lombard Jr collected two hits in four trips to the plate and scored twice to his part in the New York Yankees 9-0 blanking of their arch-rival Boston Red Sox. The rookie, who made his playoff debut is now hitting .750 after his first postseason action. The Bronx Bombers now lead the series 1-0 over the team from beantown.
