Malcom Núñez goes yard in Indy’s blanking of St. Paul (+Cuban MiLB Report )

Malcom Núñez connected on a grand slam to contribute to the Indianapolis Indians’ (AAA) 7-0 blanking of the St. Paul Saints. The slugger nicknamed, “El Animal ” went 1-for-3 on the afternoon with 4 RBIs and run scored to raise his average to .217 on the campaign. The Pirates farmhand has also now driven in six on the season.

Pedro León drove in three runs via a double in the 7th inning and a sacrifice fly in the 8th inning to help pace the Sugarland Space Cowboys to a 6-3 victory over the Oklahoma City Dodgers. The outfielder from Mayabeque, Cuba is now hitting a solid .260 on the season.

In AA Víctor Mesa Jr had multi-hits for the second consecutive game to do his part his part in Pensacola’s 4-2 victory over the Biloxi Shuckers. The son of Cuban legend Víctor Mesa went 2-for-3 in the game, with a double, a run scored and walk. The youngest of the Mesa Clan raised his average to .333 on the season.

In A + ball Lázaro Armenteros hit his first dinger of the season and also drove in his first to runs of the campaign to lead Lansing to a 9-2 thrashing of the Michigan White Caps. The once heralded prospect is off to a slow start with the bat hitting a paltry .200 to start the season.
