Raidel Martínez saves his sixth game of the season (+Asian League Report)

Raidel Martínez recorded his sixth save of the year after hurling a scoreless inning of relief in the Chunichi Dragons’ 2-1 win over the Hanshin Tigers. The right-hander from Pinar del Río, who conceded his first hit of the season, maintained his ERA at 0.00 and has placed himself just one save from the lead in that category in the Central League. Raidel Martínez has been arguably the most dominant closer in Japan this season.

In the minors Dayán Viciedo went hitless in four at-bats in Chunichi’s 7-4 loss to Hanshin. The first baseman average fell to .368 after six games with the second club.

Ariel Martínez went 0-for-4, with 2 strikeouts and a walk, to lower his average to .190 in the Nippon Ham Fighters’ 4-3 loss in 11 innings of the Nippon Ham Fighters against the Rakuten Eagles at Rakuten Mobile Park from Sendai.

Guillermo Heredia collected a hit in five turns at the plate and drove in a run to do his part in SSG’s 9-7 triumph over the Kiwoom Heroes.
