Dayán Viciedo is called up to the big leagues by Chunichi (+Asian League Report)

After hitting a robust .333 in the minors with the Chunichi Dragons Dayan Viciedo was called up to the big club, but did not see action in today’s contest against the Hanshin Tigers as a hitter, he did enter late in the game as a defensive replacement. In eight games before being sent down Viciedo was hitting .281 with first squad.

In today’s action Raidel Martínez recorded his eighth save of the year after allowing a hit and then striking out the the side to preserve a 3-1 Chunichi Dragon‘s victory over the Hanshin Tigers.

The right-hander from Pinar del Río, who has saved a game in 8 of the 9 games that he has seen action this season. His ERA stayed at 0.00 and once again he is tied for the Central League lead in saves.

Guillermo Heredia continues to swing a heavy lumber and although the SSG Landers were thrashed 11-4 by the KT Wiz the outfielder collected to hits and drove in a run in four trips to the plate. The Matanzas, Cuba native is now hitting .357 and has now driven in 20 runs on the campaign.
