Yordan goes yard in Houston’s victory. (+Cuban MLB Report)

Yordan Álvarez cranked a three-run homer in the top of the third inning, his seventh on the campaign and drove in three runs to lead Houston to a 6-4 win over Seattle. The “Giant from Las Tunas”, now has 30 runs batted in on the year and watched his average jump to .263.

For the second day in a row Yandy Díaz and Randy Arozarena went yard in a Rays victory. The Floridians edged the Yankees 5-4, while Díaz saw his average ascend to .324 on the season and Arozarena is now tied for second with Yordan Álvarez in MLB with 30 runs batted in.

Yuli Gurriel continues to excel when seeing extended action at first base. In yesterday’s Marlins’ 4-1 loss to the Cubs the Cuban slugger drove in a run via a single in three at-bats. The native of Sancti Spíritus, Cuba is hitting a solid .292 over his last seven games.
