Félix Pérez goes yard, but Guadalajara thumps Tijuana. (+Mexican League Report)

Félix Pérez went yard for sixth time on the season and knocked in two runs, but it was not enough to stave off a Tijuana 7-2 defeat to Guadalajara. The reigning league MVP has now driven in 16 runs and is hitting a solid .310 on the season.

Dariel Álvarez who continues to swing a hot bat, stroked two doubles within his three hits, drove in two runs and also scored on two occasions to pace the victors. The outfielder from Camagüey, Cuba is now hitting a robust .340 on the campaign to go along with nine runs batted in.

Although he did not factor in the decision Onelki García had his second quality start in a row tossing six innings of one hit ball, where he retired two batters via the strikeout. The Leones de Yucatán fell to the Tigres de Quintana Roo 3-2, but the lefty from Guantánamo, Cuba lowered his ERA to 3.32 on the season.
